Covariance, means and Fisher information: a quantum journey at the light of ucertainty relations
Abstract:
The standard definition of covariance used in quantum probability goes back at least to the papers by Robertson an Schroedinger on the refinement of Heisenberg uncertainty principle. But is it the "right" definition? And why? Using the notion of operator mean and quantum Fisher information we show how recent results on the uncertainty relations shed light on such simple and fundamental question.
